HyperOS Software
The software running on the watch 5 lite is HyperOS which is currently running on Redmi smartphones too. With HyperOS we get a lot of features in the UI. The UI looks smoother and runs fast on the watch. We can set the app drawer in both grid and list. Grid menu looks more better but it doesn't provide name of the app. With this new UI it suports tools such aas alexa voice assistant, calendar where we can schedule programsl and task and many more. Software used in Redmi watches before HyperOS was MIUI Xiaomi's custom made operating system.
Workouts
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite has 150+ workouts keeping you fit and healthy. It has basic workouts such as walking, outdoor running, freestyle, hiking, outdoor cycling, treadmill, jump rope, pool swimming. There is also "More" option taking you to other hundred workouts; Water sports-17 items, Outdoor activities-10 items, Training-40 items, Dance-14 items, Combat sports-12 items, Ball sports-26 items, Winter sports-11 items, Recreational sports-14 items, Card and board games-5 items with chess, checkers and board games I guess we loose calories on these! And other-3 items.
Display
Watch 5 Lite has a 1.96" AMOLED crystal clear fluid smooth display with vibrant natural colours. Supports resolution with 410 x 502 and 332 PPI with larger 75.80% screen-to-body ratio. It has the classic all-time square screen keeping it simple yet stylish.
BT Calling
Watch 5 Lite supports Bluetooth calling when connected to your phone. It has dual-mic with noise cancellation providing you calls with no noises and clear sound of your voice giving uninterrupted calls. The speaker in the Watch 5 Lite is very loud and clear.
Battery
It features a 470mAh, lasting upto 18 days on typical average usage, 12 days on heavy usage with excessive workouts and if used in full brightness, 7 days in Always-On-Display (AOD) mode, 47 days in Ultra battery saver.
Water Resistance
It supports 5 atmosphere water resistance which can withstand water pressure equivalent to a depth of 50 metres. With this we can do swimming workouts, showering and other water related activities but it's not designed for diving or extreme water sports. There is also an option for clearing water out of the device by making it vibrate.
Straps
The straps coming inbox are of two colours; Black, Light Gold. There are also other three colours straps available in MI stores; Lemon Yellow, Mint Green and Candy Pink which we can purchase and install on the watch. The strap size is 22mm which is universal size and we can buy it in any stores and install. The TPU straps form MI are very soft and comfortable, waterproof and deformation-resistant. The staps from authorised companies are always better than 3rd party straps.
Built-in five-system GNSS
It has built-in GPS system chipset with satellite positioning, tracking where you walked or ran. The GNSS tracking is very accurate and provides the route covered in the watch itself after the workout. It gives you a much more detailed info in the app where you will get satellite view of the covered area.
Security
We can set pin as lock, keeping our information and notification secured from others operating.
